An opportunity has become available at our Head Office (Cape Town) within Cape Union Mart for a Raw Materials Buyer within the Green Thread Design Studio. Responsibilities Source and develop all trims for local production. Understand the aesthetic of each brand and source trims accordingly across all brands. Generate purchase orders for all trims. Oversee order follow‑ups to ensure on‑time delivery. Manage trim stock levels and order strategic stock to cover a sufficient period. Liaise with suppliers and ensure samples are requested and submitted time‑on‑time (local and import). Ensure product pricing is competitive and within GP targets and pricing policy. Select and source reliable suppliers, building strong relationships with them. Minimise risk by monitoring high‑risk suppliers (late deliveries, reliability, quality) and maintaining supplier relationships, ensuring adherence to our terms. Keep up‑to‑date on stock levels. Qualifications Grade 12 / Matric Diploma or degree in retail or relevant industry. 3–6 years of trims buying experience in a clothing design centre or manufacturer. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PPT, Excel, Word, Outlook). iSync experience will be a big advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of the product life cycle and an acute understanding of critical path. Relevant industry/product knowledge. Experience with supplier relations.
