Overview Job Title: Shaft Engineer Location: Mpumalanga, South Africa Hire Resolve’s Client is currently seeking a Shaft Engineer with experience in the mining industry to join their team in Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of shafts used in mining operations, ensuring they meet safety, efficiency, and production targets. Responsibilities Conducting surveys and assessments to determine the feasibility of new shaft projects Developing detailed designs and plans for new shaft constructions Overseeing the construction and commissioning of shafts, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget Monitoring and optimizing shaft performance to achieve production targets Implementing and maintaining safety protocols and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations Liaising with stakeholders, including mine managers, contractors, and regulatory bodies Troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues related to shaft operations Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shaft efficiency and productivity Requirements – Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field – Minimum of 5 years of experience in shaft engineering within the mining industry – Good knowledge of mining regulations and safety standards – Strong technical skills in designing and constructing shafts – Excellent project management and communication skills – Ability to work independently and as part of a team – Willingness to travel to mine sites as required Benefits Salary: R2.2m – R2.4m Our client is offering a highly competitive salary for this role based on experience.
