We are looking for a Retail Copywriter to create clear, engaging and on‑brand copy for our retail campaigns and to quality‑check how that copy appears in final designs for various marketing materials. This includes, but is not limited to, product descriptions, advertisements, social media posts, website copy, and ad‑hoc articles. The ideal candidate is linguistically strong, visually detail‑oriented, and confident in guiding best practice within defined brand guidelines. Responsibilities Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative concepts and messaging strategies that effectively communicate the brand's voice and values. Write compelling, customer‑focused copy underpinned by a strong understanding of consumer behaviour and proven advertising & retail‑specific copywriting principles. Ensure all copy reflects the brand voice, supports business objectives and meets regulatory and legal requirements. Proofread and edit copy for accuracy, grammar, tone and consistency. Review final layouts of artwork, catalogues, social tiles, banners etc. to check for correct wording, clear hierarchy, readable formatting, pricing logic, layout cohesion etc. Work closely with designers and marketing stakeholders to align copy and design for maximum clarity and impact. Apply brand and style guidelines consistently, working comfortably within a limited scope for creativity. Confidently communicate and defend copy recommendations, using brand rules and customer understanding when there are differing views. Contribute to and improve copy templates, brief requirements, checklists and internal guidelines. Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field, or equivalent experience. Proven experience as a Copywriter or Content Writer, ideally in retail, e‑commerce or FMCG. Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with a sharp eye for detail and consistency. Strong visual awareness and comfort reviewing layouts, formats and typographic hierarchy. Confident communicator, able to give clear feedback and direction to designers and stakeholders. Comfortable working within strict brand guidelines and regulatory constraints. Able to manage multiple briefs and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Familiarity with digital marketing channels and basic SEO principles is an advantage.
