Responsibilities:Perform the full spectrum of mechanical work from diagnostics, fault-finding, and repairs to overhauls and rebuildsConduct gearbox removal, stripping, repair, reassembly, and installationCarry out vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and road tests to ensure quality workmanshipMaintain accurate job cards and service documentationWork efficiently to meet productivity and turnaround targetsEnsure adherence to safety and workshop standards at all timesAssist with technical problem-solving and provide support to fellow techniciansMaintain a clean, organised, and professional workspaceCommunicate effectively with workshop management regarding progress and technical issuesRequirements:Minimum 5 years experience in the motor industry as a Qualified TechnicianMotor Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic Trade Test (qualified artisan)Mechanical Diploma or Certificate (advantageous)Strong technical and mechanical aptitudeExperience working with gearboxes, transmissions, and drivetrain systems (essential)Ability to perform diagnostics and fault-finding accuratelyValid drivers licence (Code 8 or higher)Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a teamMotor Industry experience EssentialKey Competencies:Solid mechanical and diagnostic skillsHigh attention to detail and quality workmanshipStrong problem-solving and analytical abilityProfessional and customer-focused attitudeGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesAdvantages / Beneficial:Previous experience with both light and heavy-duty gearboxesExposure to automatic and manual transmission systemsKnowledge of diagnostic tools and software Please note only candidates with the required experience will be contacted and considered.
