Job Description: Implementing SHERQ strategy in line with National SHERQ strategy, setting SHERQ objectives and targets, updating policies that govern safety, health, environment, risk, and quality and ensure they are communicatedAbility to train all levels of staff on SHERQ induction, OHS, NOSA and ISO systems 9001, 45001 and 14001Obtaining relevant external certification as deemed appropriate and required by the companyAuditing Conduct internal SHERQ inspections, form part of management walk-about team, prepare audit reports on monthly, quarterly statistics on incidentsReducing the number of SHERQ related incidents and injuriesRisk management identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to employees, stakeholders, environment, and equipment/assets employing a hierarchy of controls to prevent occurrence and recurrences.Management of hazardous goodsJob Requirements: Matric (Grade 12) level of educationValid Code B vehicle drivers licence (Essential)Good command of both English and IsiZulu languages is a prerequisiteNational Diploma/ Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or any relevant Degree or DiplomaISO Auditing and Management Systems implementation and maintenance experienceAbility to conduct risk, aspect & impact assessments and incident/accident investigation using various models of root-cause analysisAt least 5 years management experience in health, safety, environmental, risk and qualityIn depth knowledge and at least 3 years experience of NOSA / ISO 9001, ISO 45001 & 14001 standardsUnderstanding of legislation in the SHERQ space with emphasis on OHSACT, its regulations and NEMAComputer literacy (Microsoft Office)Hazardous goods and SDS knowledgeStrong administrative skills and attention to detail to ensure data correctness, completeness, accuracy, and validityAssertiveness and strong managerial skillsExcellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skillsA team -player with an ability to independently without supervision and proactivelyAbility to work under pressure Experience in a logistics and/or shipping environmentKnowledge and previous involvement in managing a behaviourally based safety management system
