Data EngineerLocation: PaarlIndustry: Agriculture / AgriTechType: Full-timeSummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer to join our fast-growing agriculture startup. The Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our data infrastructure, building ETL pipelines, and creating scalable data solutions to support business objectives. Working within a cross-functional team of engineers, business stakeholders, and data scientists, you will help transform raw data into actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesUse appropriate data science and engineering tools to solve business problems and support data-driven decision-making.Build, maintain, and optimize ETL pipelines for efficient data processing and analysis.Manage relationships with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met and deliverables are aligned with business needs.Collaborate with engineers and business teams to understand project goals, interpret users’ intent, and translate requirements into data solutions.Translate complex datasets into informative reports and visualizations to support strategic decision-making.Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across all systems and pipelines.Continuously optimize data pipelines, models, and processes to enable efficient analytics and reporting.Support the development of scalable data warehouses and data storage solutions. RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience designing and implementing data solutions, ETL pipelines, and data warehouses.Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and other data engineering tools; experience with BI tools is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate work.Experience working in agile development environments is advantageous.Knowledge of cloud-based data infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a bonus.A proactive, adaptable mindset with eagerness to learn in a fast-paced startup environment.Must be able to develop in Mendex.TO APPLY:To apply or receive more information, please:click on the "Apply" buttonWe take great care in assessing each application individually, however only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, therefore please deem your application as unsuccessful if you receive no feedback after 2 weeks of sending your CV.
