We’re growing again — and this time, we’re creating a brand-new leadership position to help us strengthen and refine the heart of our lending operations.
We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Credit & Recoveries Manager (CRM) to take full ownership of the company’s credit life cycle — from loan evaluations and approvals to arrears management and recoveries. This is a key operational role, reporting directly to the Operations Manager / Managing Director, and working closely with the Credit & Lending Manager to ensure the business maintains a healthy loan book and sustainable growth.
Because this is a new role, we’re offering an initial six-month probation period, giving both the business and the successful candidate the chance to measure impact and value over time.
What You’ll Be Doing:
-Oversee and continuously improve the credit evaluation and approval process.
-Lead both the Evaluations and Collections departments, ensuring collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
-Implement effective collection strategies to maximise recoveries and minimise credit losses.
-Sit as an active member of the Credit Committee, providing insight on risk appetite, portfolio performance, and policy refinement.
-Act as custodian of all Credit Policies, ensuring compliance with the National Credit Act (NCA) and other relevant regulations.
-Provide leadership and mentorship to the Lead Evaluator and Collections Manager, driving professional development and operational excellence.
-Analyse and report on key metrics such as approval accuracy, default rates, and recovery performance.

-High first-strike and arrears collection success rates
-Controlled bad debt and portfolio-at-risk ratios
-Quick and accurate loan evaluation turnaround times
-Compliance with NCA and internal audit standards
-Engaged, productive teams in both departments
What You’ll Need:
-A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field (advantageous).
-At least 5 years’ experience in credit management, lending, or collections, including 2 years in a leadership role.
-Experience in microlending and collections performance management is essential.
-Solid understanding of the National Credit Act (NCA), Debt Collection Act, and related compliance frameworks.
-Proven ability to improve collection rates, manage risk, and lead teams effectively.
