Our client in Pretoria West is looking to employ and Afrikaans speaking senior
qualified ages 47 years old and up yellow plant mechanic it involves
performing detailed maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy
earthmoving equipment like loaders, excavators, and bulldozers. Key
responsibilities include troubleshooting engines, power trains, hydraulics, and
electrical systems to minimize equipment downtime and ensure optimal
performance. Essential qualifications typically include a recognized Trade
Certificate Red Seal minimum of 15 years of experience working with heavy
equipment, and a valid driver's license. Must have own complete tool box
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Repair:
Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and complex repairs on
earthmoving equipment.
Diagnostics:
Utilise diagnostic tools and expertise to identify and troubleshoot issues with
engines, power trains, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Part Management:
Remove and install new or repaired parts and components.
Testing:
Conduct testing and operational checks to ensure equipment is functioning
correctly.

Equipment Availability:
Work to maximize equipment availability and reliability to support operational
efficiency.
Technical Support:
Provide technical assistance and guidance to other team members.
Trade Qualification:
A recognized Trade Test Certificate, Earthmoving Equipment
Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or Diesel Mechanic qualification
(Red Seal).
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years (or 7 years for a senior role) of post-apprenticeship
experience in servicing and repairing heavy earthmoving equipment.
Mechanical Aptitude:
Excellent understanding of engine, power train, hydraulics, and electrical
systems.
Diagnostic Skills:
Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
Driving License:
A valid driver's license Code 10 or 14 is required, with a heavy vehicle
license.
Physical Fitness:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb for extended periods, and
to lift and move heavy objects.
