Our client, a leader in the automotive industry is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their team based in Durban. MINIMUM REQUIRREMENTSGrade 12National Diploma or Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Accounting or related qualificationBachelor of Commerce (Accounting), CA(SA) or CIMA advantageMinimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS Provide financial analysis and support to management and all operational areas of the businessMonitor and support debtors and creditorsMaintenance of the fixed asset registerControl intercompany balancingReview weekly payrollReview and action financial variances (Budget / Forecast)Review and action Balance Sheet Account variancesEnsure compliance with IFRSMaintain the plant CAPEX & Tooling ReportsGenerate information and reports for internal and external useComply with Internal ControlsMaintain and Review the Risk RegisterParticipate in the budget/forecast processPrepare budgets and forecasts for plantsPrepare plant P/L and balance sheet forecastsPrepare financial reports and returns (Monthly BU/Plant Financial Pack)Compile the BU/ Plant Flash Results and analyse variancesCompile and review Weekly Sales ReportsPrepare Provisions and AccrualsCompile Royalties schedule for month end processingPrepare general ledger journalsCompile general ledger reconciliationsPrepare & maintain a CAPEX and Tooling register tracking actual spend against approved spend, planning future profitability & cash flows of the projects.Prepare CAPEX requisitions with all relevant information regarding the CAPEX project.Support useful life and residual value of Fixed Assets analysisMaintain the BU/Plant Tooling ReportsPrepare and plan Year-end Statutory Audit (external and internal) in line with the consolidated Audit planPrepare and arrange royalty auditsCalculate landed cost on all import shipmentsPrepare / Review DA 190 (Declaration of Imported Components and Raw Materials)Investigate Purchase Price Variances (PPV)Generate variance report of Actuals to budgeted informationCompile daily stock holding reportOversee Stock TakesAssist with investigating stock count variancesOverall responsibility for stockOversee cash management function of the plantMonitor daily cash positions and cash flows to ensure settlement and maximise performanceManage cash flow and working capital for the plantReview Forex ForecastsPlant FEC contracts based on AP requirementsIdentify improvement opportunities and make recommendations for improvementsParticipate in Continuous Improvement initiativesPrepare financial reports and returnsGenerate information and reports for internal and external useEnsure an enabling climate/culture.Ensure a safe, secure and legal working environment.Manage individual, team and departmental performance to achieve organisational objectives.Determine the training needs of the Department.Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levelsEnsure discipline is maintained in department (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)Resolve grievances and disputesIdentify potential hazards and critical safety issues in the workplaceAddress workplace hazards and risksWork safely and use safety equipment
