You will be a dedicated Resource within the Commercial Department and you will be actively involved in key activities such as the development of project proposals, tender submissions, aftersales support and product performance monitoring and analysis. Your role will require a thorough understanding of pump application theory and you will use both internally developed pump selection models as well as 3rd party software to facilitate the pump selection process.6 Duties & responsibilities6.1 Primary Duties• Early-Stage Project/Proposal/Quote Developmento Assess feasibility of product range to application.o Prepare detailed pump selection studieso Assistance with system design and layout and pumping philosophieso Life Cycle Cost Analysiso Sub-contractor engagement for quotes on bought-in products such as motors, base frames, E&IC and valveso Proposal Compilationo Assist the GM - Commercial in communicating technical constructs, both written and face to face, with prospective clients.• Project Tender Submissiono Assess Tender request requirementso Confirmation of pump selectiono QA submissions and managemento DRL and DRS review and managemento Project programsSub-contractor engagement for quotes on bought-in products such as motors, base frames, E&IC and valveso Mechanical, electrical and Civil Submissionso Control and Instrumentation review and submissiono Develop Scope and resource requirementso Prepare price scheduleo Collation and submission of tender document• Aftersales Engineering Supporto Commissioning Process Managemento Analysis of commissioning data in order to develop Commissioning Reportso Analysis of condition monitoring data in order to develop condition monitoring reportso Customer Complaints Process Management (in accordance with ISO 9001:2018)6.2 Secondary duties• Assist GM - Commercial with the development of marketing material such as technical presentations and case studies.7 Performance: Will be measured in terms of:• Ability to carry out all of the primary duties and secondary duties.• The success of the commercial department as a unit in terms of reaching its stated objectives.• Ability to meet project and tender deadlines8 Qualifications & Skills• 4-year Degree in Mechanical Engineering (would consider Btech or N. Dip Mech Eng)• Minimum 3 years’ experience in pump system design• Professional Registration with ECSA (advantage)• Pump Selection program (SPAIX or similar)• Microsoft Visio and Excel proficient• Adobe Acrobat pro proficient• Strong computer literacy skills• Strong technical writing skills• ISO 9001 implementation and reporting experience9 Working Conditions• Non-smoking environment• PPE to be worn as required• Factory environment• Occasional overtime or weekend work• Irregular hours at times• Underground mining environment10 Physical RequirementsThis job is mentally demanding which would require the management of multiple tasks and long hours in front of a Personal Computer.
