Auto Electrician VacancyLocation: JHB - Eastern SuburbsReporting to: Operations ManagerSeniority Level: Mid Career (2 - 4 yrs exp)Type: ContractorDuties and Responsibilities:Install new electronic components on vehicles, trucks, and plant equipmentFault-finding and Diagnose problems with electronic components in vehicles, trucks, and plant equipmentMaintain and repair electronic componentsUtilize a wide variety of tools to diagnose, maintain, and repair parts efficientlyTest and repair starters, alternators and charging systems, lights, indicators, break lights, and trailer plugsOperate all tools and equipment safely, in compliance with health and safety standardsFault finding of electrical systems through visual inspection and relevant toolsMaintain a clean working environment and work without supervisionAttend to breakdowns on all sitesManual inspection of control modules and connectorsRepairing ABS/EBS wiring faults, immobilizer wiring, and ignition systemsUnderstanding 12V/24V systems on trucks, shorts, open circuits, and bad earthsFixing trailer electrical systems, testing charging systems manuallyPlanned and unplanned maintenance schedules, hand testing switches, relays, and accessoriesAbility to read wiring diagrams and install extra electrical accessories traditionallyQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSQualified Auto Electrical Trade Certificate (Red Seal) is advantageousNational Diploma or relevant qualificationsPrior experience of 3-5 years within the relevant industry and advanced knowledge of modern vehicle electrical systemsStrong diagnostic and fault-finding skillsExperience with MANN truck brandValid driver's license in order to travel within East rand area to company sitesAbility and valid license to operate plant machinery, trucks and vehiclesAbility to work as a team memberAbility to work without supervisionExcellent Health and Safety awareness and knowledge to ensure complianceCompetency and awareness of use of all required toolsComputer literacyValid Medical Certificate, or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
