Key RequirementsSolid experience in production and warehouse operationsStrong knowledge of ISO 9001, Health & Safety, and Fire ComplianceDangerous Goods and chemical handling experience beneficialAbility to lead teams and manage disciplinary processesValid drivers licence (company bakkie can be provided)Must live within a reasonable distance due to after-hours site callouts and therefore be of sober habitsProactive, hands-on approach and strong problem-solving skillsStable career history (no frequent job hopping) Key Responsibilities Warehouse & Site OperationsDaily opening/closing of premises and oversight of security protocolsEnd-to-end workflow management: receiving, storage, picking, packing, staging, dispatchEnsure strict FIFO/FEFO, accurate picking slips, batch control, stock integrityMaintain a clean, safe warehouse environment (5S) Dangerous Goods & Chemical HandlingEnsure full compliance with DG regulationsOversee storage, segregation, and labelling of hazardous materialsTrain staff on chemical handling, PPE, spill response and SDS requirementsMaintain spill kits, fire extinguishers, and conduct compliance inspections Fire & Emergency Preparedness (Advantage)Support fire warden responsibilitiesParticipate in fire drills, equipment checks, incident reporting Logistics & DispatchPlan daily dispatch schedules and route optimisationEnsure safe and compliant loadingVerify paperwork, PODs, and manage driver performanceLiaise with transport providers and monitor OTIF performance Vehicle & Equipment ManagementConduct inspections of forklifts, pallet jacks, trucks and bakkiesManage servicing, repairs, and safety concernsMaintain COFs, licence renewals, service logs Stock Control & InventoryOversee GRVs, transfers, adjustments, dispatch capturingConduct cycle counts and full stock takesInvestigate discrepancies and maintain batch traceability Staff SupervisionLead and mentor warehouse staffAllocate daily workload, monitor productivity and SOP complianceHandle performance discussions and corrective action where needed OHS & ComplianceEnforce safety procedures and OHS Act requirementsConduct toolbox talks and ensure correct PPE usageReport hazards and assist in incident investigations Systems & ReportingUse ERP/stock systems for all warehouse movementsSubmit daily/weekly reporting and monitor KPIsRecommend process improvements Cross-Department CollaborationCoordinate with Production, Sales, Customer Service, QA and ProcurementManage raw material flow, urgent orders, product releases and non-conformances Seasonal & After-Hours AvailabilityWeekend work during peak season (OctDec)Flexibility for early starts/late finishes during high-demand periodsAttend to urgent after-hours warehouse or security matters when required
