They pride themselves on close partnerships with architects, contractors, and fabricators, and are known for delivering on both quality and innovation.The Role: SQL Commercial Manager This freelance role supports the commercial operations of a growing construction supply chain business. Youll manage and optimise SQL-based systems used for pricing, forecasting, invoicing, and procurement across multiple international projects. Youll also play a hands-on role in commercial reporting and supplier engagementhelping the business grow with accurate, timely insights.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain SQL-based commercial data models and reportsTrack, analyse, and report on budgets, quotes, and supplier costsLiaise with UK-based suppliers, clients, and project managersIntegrate data between pricing, procurement, and invoicing systemsSupport cost/value reconciliation and weekly commercial reportingHandle ad hoc commercial administration and analysis tasksOptimise workflows to scale with growing project demandsBuild strong relationships across internal and external stakeholdersAbout YouMinimum 3 years commercial SQL experienceProven knowledge of budgeting, procurement data, or cost trackingExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsStrong Excel/Google Sheets skills; Power BI or Airtable a plusBased in Cape Town (or able to work UK business hours reliably)Confident, personable, and proactive with a service-oriented mindsetExperience in glazing, aluminium framing, or construction supply chains highly preferredComfortable with zero-hour contract work and flexible task deliveryCultural Fit This business values integrity, initiative, and meaningful relationships.
