Fruit Packing Supervisor

Stellenpak is a well-established fruit packing and cooling enterprise in Paarl, serving a niche market segment in the fruit industry. The company is looking for a hardworking individual to act as Fruit Packing Supervisor (FPS) during the peak season. During off season the incumbent will function as a packer.Responsibilities during peak season:Oversee the functioning of the packing area on a packing lineEnsure that packers, line workers and scale operators know what is expected of them in respect of the packing planEnsure that BRC requirements and all other procedures and standards are complied withEnsure that staff productivity targets are realisedSupervise the packing of pallets to ensure pallets are packed responsibly and safelyEnsure that palletisers know what is expected of them in respect of the packing planReport deviations to Packing Line ManagerResponsibilities during off season:Ensure that the correct fruit is packed in the correct boxesRemove all fruit that deviates from required standardsEnsure that productivity targets are maintainedEnsure that health, safety and housekeeping standards are adhered toRequirements:Grade 12 (preferable)3 years’ experience as a packerNeeds to live in or nearby SimondiumHighly motivated and performance-orientated (high achievement orientation)Resilient and ability to adapt to changeResults-orientatedVery accurate and thoroughExcellent conflict management skillsExcellent supervisory skillsExcellent verbal communication skillsGood interpersonal skillsLeadership & motivational skills
