Senior Accountant

Job PurposeThe Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial and operational reporting across the organization and its subsidiaries. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial information while guiding a team of accountants. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, leadership experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee operational and financial reporting across all subsidiaries.Review and/or prepare monthly management packs.Prepare and/or review annual financial statements and supporting schedules.Maintain and update centralized regional financial reports.Review VAT calculations and submissions; manage VAT audits.Review and prepare tax computations, provisional tax, and dividend payouts.Assist with VAT verifications, IT14SDs, and other SARS-related tax queries.Manage the preparation of audit files and liaise with auditors to resolve queries.Guide, assist, and manage a team of accountants.Prepare and present financial reports to shareholders.Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes for new and exiting entities.Design and implement financial systems for newly established companies or buildings.Review and manage cash flow forecasts and actuals.Oversee and reconcile intercompany transactions.Assume full accountability for financial activities within the portfolio, proactively addressing challenges and ensuring timely resolution.Candidate RequirementsEducation & Qualifications:BCom or equivalent.SAICA, CIMA, or SAIPA accreditation.Articles or experience at a small audit/accounting practice is beneficial.Advanced Excel skills.Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.Skills & Competencies:Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Strong analytical skills.Team-oriented with experience managing a team.Excellent work ethic and professionalism.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
