The ideal Barista will have:A valid South African ID or work permitA Matric certificate (Grade 12)At least 2 years recent experience as a Barista in a hotel, café, or restaurant environmentA passion for coffee, tea, and beverage craftsmanshipStrong customer service skills and a welcoming, professional demeanourAbility to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced service environmentExcellent communication and teamwork skillsFlexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidaysKnowledge of POS systems such as Micros, cash-ups, and beverage preparation equipmentBasic understanding of food safety and hygiene standardsWhat Youll DoCraft high quality beverages by preparing espresso, cappuccino, lattes, teas, and specialty drinks to perfection, following hotel recipes and presentation standardsDeliver service excellence by greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, answering menu questions, and ensuring every experience is enjoyableEngage guests proactively by anticipating needs, making personalised recommendations, and creating moments of genuine connectionDrive revenue through suggestive selling, promoting specials, and supporting the team in achieving food and beverage targetsMaintain standards by keeping the coffee bar clean, stocked, and visually appealing throughout the daySupport your team by collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations, professionalism, and a positive workplace cultureUphold safety and hygiene by following all health, safety, and sanitation procedures as per hotel policyWhy The PresidentAt The President Hotel, we dont just serve guests, we create experiences that stay with them long after the last sip.
