OverviewOur Client in the Healthcare Industry is seeking a Patient Services Manager to join their team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the management and co-ordination of patient services resources, processes and operations.Minimum RequirementsGrade 12 / MatricRelevant Nursing qualification, preferably Degree or Diploma as a registered nurse with proven Case Management and Coding Experience5 years of relevant private healthcare industry and people management experienceCurrent registration with the relevant professional/regulatory bodyUnderstanding the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantageUnderstanding the basic financial principles (i.e., budgets, credit management, planning)Driver’s license and ability to travelJob ResponsibilitiesEnsure effective quality management and customer care:Monitoring and improving quality metricsManaging data integrity and compliance to the company's working proceduresDeveloping and maintaining relationships with stakeholdersEnsure effective people management:Demonstrating visible leadership skills in respect of the company's values, operating models and strategies to support diversity and transformationActively leading meetings and ensuring participation of all members to ensure ISO complianceEnsuring quality staff members are recruited to fill approved vacancies following the company’s transformation objectivesProviding direction and inspiration to ensure staff are motivated and productiveManaging and reviewing training plans that are compliant to the company's WSP requirements to enable talent developmentManaging the performance of staff through the performance improvement processEnsuring all transactional processing is complete to provide employee compensation and benefitsEnsuring productive working relationships are supported with minimum IR issuesEnsuring all exit interviews are conducted to ensure the retention of staffManaging people in a manner that respects diversity and ensures a fair work-life balance to ensure employee wellnessEnsure effective and accurate billing:Driving the accurate and timely billing process to ensure DSO and Shaka targets are achievedManaging the bill auditing process to achieve accurate billing dataEnsuring compliance with the clinical code of conduct to ensure the accurate interpretation of a patient eventEnsure effective interpretation and application of contracts and funder rules:Managing the admissions department to ensure that they comply with the funder rulesManaging the collection of outstanding co-payments from patientsReducing and managing the risk associated with RSRT’s by making recommendations regarding patient-based dataFacilitating effective cash flow management:Implementing processes from pre-admission to submission of an account to ensure DSO targets are achievedImplementing cash management processes to prevent lossesEnsure effective operational capabilities:Managing and implementing business plans to ensure optimal functioningGovernance and risk management:Preparing and ensuring sound audit compliance to achieve optimum business ethicsParticipating and developing action plans within the risk management teams to implement the correct controlsSupport tip-off investigationsKey Competencies / Skills: Computer proficiencyProblem-solving, analysis, and judgementEngaging diversityVerbal and written communication and presentationExcellence orientationBuilding relationshipsCustomer responsivenessOrganisational awarenessEthical behaviour
